Brazil fed cattle prices decline amid higher supply - Cepea
Fed cattle prices in São Paulo have decreased 1.28% in February so farBrazil's fed cattle prices experienced a slight decline in early February. According to Cepea researchers, this drop is primarily due to longer delivery windows resulting from an increased supply of animals.
As of February 14, fed cattle prices in São Paulo had decreased by 1.28% for the month.
According to IBGE, the total number of animals slaughtered in the last quarter of 2024 reached 9.48 million. This represents an 8.6% decrease compared to the previous quarter but a 3.5% increase over the fourth quarter of 2023.
In January, beef exports fell 0.6% compared to January 2024 and by 10.9% compared to December 2024, according to Secex data. China remains the leading destination for Brazilian beef, followed by the United States.
