Prices have been increasing steeply in Brazil's cattle market since late August in all regions, according to a recent market report from Cepea. In São Paulo, the CEPEA/B3 Index for fed cattle and beef carcass in the wholesale market of the Greater SP increased more than 16% in October alone.

However, the intensity of these adjustments is distinct among regions. The CEPEA/B3 Index for fed cattle (São Paulo State) have increased 40% since late June, while other areas in the Central-North upped between 44% and 63%. In the same period, prices of beef carcass in the wholesale market of the Greater São Paulo have moved up 36%.

As for beef, values are also moving up since the supply of meatpackers to wholesale agents is low.

Concerning shipments, as the supply in the US is limited, Brazil continues as the major global supplier and has been able to adjust prices in dollar.
