Vets in Ethiopia remove 50 kg of plastic from cow’s stomach

27 July 2020

After three hours of surgery, a team of six vets have removed 50 kg of plastic from a cow.

According to reporting in the BBC, the vets report that the cow is alive and in good health.

In June, the cow’s owner brought a different cow to the vets who removed 20 kg of plastic from its gut. Dr Firaol explained that since the group helped the farmer before, they had built trust.
