QMS - Quality Meat Scotland

With a combined following of over 113,000 people, Ash Reid, the face behind the Mama Reid YouTube channel, Gemma Hunter of The Lifestyle Hunter YouTube channel and Claire Jessiman who runs popular Aberdeen foodie blog Foodie Quine, travelled to the Dakota hotel in Glasgow to learn how to cook an array of delicious and versatile Scotch Beef PGI dishes including Scotch Beef Fajitas and the perfect ribeye steak.

The cookery demonstration was led by Andrew Doherty, the head chef at Glasgow’s deluxe Dakota hotel. With over 17 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Andrew worked with the influencers to showcase Scotch Beef as an ingredient, providing tips on how to season, cook and rest the meat for optimum flavour and tenderness.

Carol McLaren, Director of Marketing and Communications with Quality Meat Scotland said: "As part of our 'Know Your Beef' campaign we wanted to showcase Scotch Beef as an ingredient and champion the heroes of the industry who work so hard to produce a quality assured product, worthy of its blue quality assurance label.

"Working with local influencers was a great way for us to communicate our message, not only to them but to their followers who were able to observe the day through various posts on social media and Instagram stories which really captured the educational feel of the demonstration.

"We wanted to show how Scotch Beef can be used to create a variety of dishes, from a quick and healthy Scotch Beef stir fry, to the perfect ribeye steak for when you want to create a special dish for dinner parties or special occasions.

"Having Andrew from the Dakota on hand to walk them through each dish was fantastic, his knowledge and passion for Scotch Beef made him perfectly placed to provide all of the tips necessary to produce a delicious dish."

The influencer cookery day supports Quality Meat Scotland’s 'Know Your Beef' campaign which seeks to champion the unsung heroes of the Scotch Beef industry and educate consumers about the quality, sustainability and welfare credentials of Scotch Beef.
