130,000 Cattle Vaccinated in Reaction to Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia
SENEGAL – Plans to control contagious bovine pleuropneumonia have resulted in over 130,000 cattle being vaccinated in the Medina region. The outbreak was first confirmed on 13 November last year and resulted in 137,180 cattle receiving vaccines, although no affected animals have been treated.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has reported that the reason behind the outbreak could be the introduction of new live animals and contact with infected animals at feeding.
