The event is devoted to providing researchers, practitioners and clinicians, involved in Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) research, the opportunity to meet, share ideas and learn more about BVDV and control of the disease.

"BVDV is estimated to cost the cattle industry $10 to $40 per calf born. The 4th annual BVDV Symposium will be held Jan. 26-27, 2009 in Phoenix, Ariz. prior to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association winter conference. The Symposium, entitled, "BVDV Variability: Impact on Virulence, Host Range and Control," will include two days of informative presentations delivered by field experts on topics ranging from basic virology to control of BVDV.
