Cattle TB zone in eastern NM to be around a while
NEW MEXICO - State and federal livestock officials say it’ll be two to three more years before a federally imposed cattle tuberculosis zone in eastern New Mexico is removed.Producers in the zone must test their animals for TB before shipping them outside the zone, which includes Roosevelt County and a small part of Curry County.
State veterinarian Dave Fly says the last positive test in the zone was two years ago.
