Israel Reports Three New FMD Outbreaks
ISRAEL - The Israeli veterinary authorities have reported three new outbreaks of foot and mouth disease in cattle and sheep.The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 3 on Tuesday, 17 May. According to the report, all three outbreaks occurred in Hafazon.
A total of 2562 cattle were found susceptible to the disease, out of which 110 cases were reported. No deaths were recorded, and no animals were destroyed.
According to the report, the affected herds were vaccinated last year.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
