Netherlands Bans Double Decker Cattle Transporters

THE NETHERLANDS - The Netherlands government has announced that it will ban the use of double-deck trucks, loaded on both decks with cattle aged one-year and older.

These trucks seriously comprimise the welfare of cattle during transportation, said Eurogroup For Animals, who urges all other European Union member States to follow these decisions and act quickly.

The ban will come into force on 1st April 2011.
