AUSTRALIA – Many fundamentals are in place for a strong Australian beef sector, which is now waiting on the weather to allow herd rebuilding.

This is the prognosis of Rabobank’s latest markets report “Australian Beef – On the Cusp of Great Things”, which gives strong world demand, tight supplies, growing trade agreements and currency strength as reasons why the future for Australian beef is looking bright.
Now all that is needed is for rains to come and bolster a “generally optimistic” cattle industry.
Angus Gidley-Baird of Rabobank said: “With strong fundamentals in place, this report looks at some of the opportunities and challenges for the Australian beef industry from a production, export and price perspective.”
